Understanding the science behind weight loss and how to switch on fat metabolism is an important factor to success. The program offers two healthy eating plans to choose from (Ketogenic or Low Fat), and incorporates evidence-based exercise recommendations along with behavioural change strategies to help support lasting weight loss.

Patients who have participated in this program have safetly lost fat mass, reduced weight, and improved their energy levels while preserving their muscle mass. After 12 weeks on the Shake It program patients have lost as much as 17.4kgs; almost 1.5kg per week. Most calorie-restricted diets may result in an excessive loss of muscle mass. The loss of muscle reduces your metabolic rate (ability to burn calories) and increases your likelihood of putting the fat back on (yo-yo dieting).
